Curve Garden privacy policy
About
Last updated: 16 September 2026 Policy version: 1
Curve Garden is made by Rick's Creations (Rick Hinfelaar, Netherlands). Contact: rick@rickscreations.nl Website: https://curvegarden.rickscreations.nl/
This policy covers the Curve Garden mobile app and this website. It is written for Google Play, the App Store, and GDPR.
Who this is for
The app is offered to people aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13.
What the app stores on your device
Your garden (plants, upgrades, biomass, progress, settings, sound levels) is saved in a file on your own device. It never leaves the device to a server of ours. There is no account and no login. Uninstalling the app deletes the save.
A separate consent record is also stored on the device. It remembers whether you allowed personalized ads. Resetting the garden does not erase that record. Uninstalling the app does.
Consent
The first time you open the app, a consent wall asks you to choose:
Accept ads: Google may show personalized ads and may use an advertising id on this device. Essential only: the game works as normal. Ads, when they run, are limited (non personalized). Advertising cookies and an advertising id are restricted.
You can change this later in Settings, and you can open this policy from the wall and from Settings.
When Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) is wired in with AdMob, people in the EEA, UK and Switzerland will also see Google's consent form. That form is the IAB record for ad partners. Our wall is the in-app record we keep even before that SDK is live.
Ads and advertising identifiers
Curve Garden is an ads-supported game. Short films in the shop (and the welcome-back clip) are rewarded ads.
In the first store builds those buttons still grant their reward at once, with no ad network call. The consent choice is already stored so that Google AdMob can start without a new surprise.
When ads are live:
The ad SDK is Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). AdMob may use an advertising id, IP address, device type, and interaction with the ad (impressions, clicks, whether a film was finished). If you chose Accept ads, ads may be personalized. If you chose Essential only, we ask AdMob for non personalized ads (`npa=1`). We do not sell your data. AdMob is an independent controller for the data it collects to show ads. See Google's ads privacy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
The app does not include a separate analytics SDK of ours, crash reporter, or social login.
What this website stores
The public site at curvegarden.rickscreations.nl is a static page. It does not set advertising cookies. Hosting may keep ordinary server logs (IP address, user agent) for security, which we do not use to profile you.
Permissions
The app does not use the camera, microphone, location, contacts, or files outside its own save folder. Internet access is used for ads once AdMob is live, and to open this policy in your browser.
Purchases
This version has no purchases. Amber packs in the shop are marked Coming later and cannot be bought. If a later version adds purchases, they will go through Google Play or the App Store and this policy will be updated before that version ships.
Your rights (GDPR)
You can:
Withdraw ads consent in Settings (Essential only). Erase the garden from Settings (Start a new garden). Erase everything by uninstalling the app. Ask what we hold: we hold no server copy of your garden. Email rick@rickscreations.nl if you want that in writing.
If you are in the EEA you may also complain to your local data protection authority (in the Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
If a future version collects more, this page will say what, why, and how to opt out, and the consent wall will ask again when the policy version goes up.
